2012 ES season has started

First 144 Mhz E-Skip alert of the 2012 season were issued on May 6th. Don't want to miss 144 MHz E sporadic openings in Europe? We can send you E-skip alert via SMS on your mobile phone just email to S50CLX SysOp for details. The ES warning message that is sent from S50CLX is short like <S50CLX 2m Es> Sat 1636 UTC: 144 MHz E-skip Alert 2m band open from S50TA to CN8LI and for midle latitudes Aurora alert like <S50CLX Aurora> Sat 0315 UTC: MID latitude VHF AURORA WARNING. Both alerts can be switched separately.

Experimentally we can send also 50 MHz and 70 MHz alerts like <S50CLX 6m Es> Thu 0827 UTC: 50 MHz E-skip Alert 6m band open from E4X to YU2DX for 50 MHz E-skip and <S50CLX 4m Es> Wed 0934 UTC: 70 MHz E-skip Alert 4m band open from OH5RBG/B to OE5MPL for 70 MHz E-skip. All warnings are visible on RTV Slovenia teletext page 597 and remain there for two hours as a flashing red text under latest spots row!

Many programs trying to guess the propagation mode or grid squares or locators from the text of the spot but this not always easy achieved because spots do not have an specific format. Please consider sending a VHF spot always containing both grid squares and locators with the propagation mode so that they can be easily identified and analyzing by software tools. Variety of propagation modes are possible and when sending spot to the DX Cluster network please use formated spot below as a sample:
